Twitter Brand Engagement

Getting a large brand on twitter to engage with my tweet was much easier than I thought. I first attempted to get a response from @Raising_Canes, a fast food chicken restaurant. I thought that it would be a little easier to get a response from them because they are a little less well-known than some of the other chains such as McDonalds and Taco Bell. Whenever I see a brand interacting with people it is usually because of something positive or because they were complimented so I took that route. I complimented their famous Box Combo but did not get a response. Next, I tweeted at Amazon which I thought would be more of a stretch because they are such a large company. I said how much I love the Amazon Prime feature because I can shop while laying in bed and added a fun gif in order to make the tweet stand out more and be a little funny. I got a response within the day that personally addressed my tweet that said, "Staying in bed + shopping = the best of both worlds." I guess the larger companies have more employees whose jobs are solely to interact on social media and give the company a fun and approachable face. By observing how my classmates were able to get responses from the brands they tweeted, it was shown that positivity, complements, or asking for help usually can get a response.
