Comic Strips are meant to tell short stories or portray scenes through illustration and text. The purpose of this comic strip is to bring to light the problem of pollution in the ocean in a light and humorous way so that people will be more likely to read it. The audience would be people who read newspapers as there are always comic strip sections or people who are following websites that share funny graphics. This comic appeals to pathos as it is discussing the fact that by 2025 there could be one ton of plastic for every three tons of fish in the sea which is very unhealthy for the environment. The media was probably initially print but it is now digital. The mode is visual and text-based. It is uses cute illustration and pleasant colors in order to make people more likely to look at it. This comic could be adapted into a short cartoon and show cute penguins and fish in order to appeal to pathos and show that pollution can be killing these cute animals.
