One of my go-to favorite songs is Brooklyn Baby by Lana Del Rey. The song is a love song that is meant to tell a story as it was written by and helped produced by her then-boyfriend. It also is said to be making fun at New York "hipsters" as she has lyrics like "I've got feathers in my hair," "I get down to beat poetry," and "my jazz collection's rare." The audience of this song would be mainly people who like alternative or indie pop music although Lana Del Rey has a very large audience that can be very diverse since a couple of her songs have reach mainstream radio. This song is directed towards her normal audience as the whole album fits into her indie pop sound and has a very dreamy or "trippy" feel. Pathos was used as she is trying to appeal to emotions since it is a love song. Lana Del Rey is very unique in her genre as there aren't many artists who sound like her or who can achieve what she can with her vocal range. With her sultry voice and use of many different sounds and changes of tempos she achieves a distinctive style and sound.
