Pop Culture Kryptonite

My pop culture weakness is paying attention to movie and TV award shows such as the Golden Globes and the Oscars and critiqueing Celebrity red carpet looks. Even though I know celebrities are just people who shouldn't be worshipped I find it is so entertaining to see what they can come up with for their outfit on the red carpet considering they have an almost infinite supply of options with the amount of resources they have such as money and stylists. It always puzzles me when someone shows up to an award show looking crazy and not put-together since they have a whole team that is supposed to be in charge of how they look. I love looking at fashion and makeup and seeing what will become a trend for the season. These award shows usually take place at the beginning of the year so the fashion that is seen sets the tone for the trends that will be seen throughout the year. Celebrities are generally very influential so when they are seen wearing something new and edgy it often takes off and becomes a trend even in everyday fashion.
